ATHENS, GA – SEPTEMBER 16: Mecole Hardman #4 of the Georgia Bulldogs takes the field before the game against the Samford Bulldogs at Sanford Stadium on September 16, 2017 in Athens, Georgia. (Photo by Scott Cunningham/Getty Images)On Friday afternoon, Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Mecole Hardman left practice after suffering an apparent injury. The former Georgia wideout was carted off the field – though he rode in the front of the cart instead of the back. His position in the cart suggests the injury has something to do with his upper body, rather than the lower body.According to multiple reports, Hardman appears to have suffered a shoulder injury. The rookie wide receiver was checked out by medical staff for an undisclosed injury before he left the field for the day. Mecole Hardman is being taken up to the locker room in the front of the cart. He’s likely done for the day. We’ll have more info soon. Looks like it could be a shoulder. #Chiefs— Pete Sweeney (@pgsween) August 2, 2019Reporters at Chiefs camp raved about Hardman’s practice up to that point. He’s been a standout at camp over the past two weeks. He and star quarterback Patrick Mahomes have already built a solid chemistry despite Hardman being in his rookie season.Earlier in practice on Friday morning, Mahomes connected with Hardman on a long touchdown pass.Dude just continues to wow everyone. After Tyreek Hill returned, Hardman’s likelihood to see the field took a significant hit. However, if he keeps standing out at camp, head coach Andy Reid will have no choice but to put him on the field.
