first_imgElections BC is scehduled to start mailing out the ballots for the Harmonized Sales Tax Referendum on Friday, and the government is hoping the majority of eligible voters in the province will have received them by June 24th.As things now stand, July 8th will be the last day for unregistered voters, to request a ballot from Elections BC.The deadline for completed mailed in ballots to be received by Elections BC…or those filed in person, to be received at a Service BC Centre, is 4.30pm, July 22nd.- Advertisement -Again we note, voters will be asked this question…”Are you in favor of extinquishing the HST, and reinstating the PST, in conjunction with the GST”.So that means if you want the HST killed…you vote Yes…and if you it retained…you vote No.Since it’s expected to take several weeks for Elections BC to count the ballots, results of the vote are not anticipated until late August.Advertisement It should also be noted that any escalation in the current postal dispute could have a impact on the aforementioned dates.last_img read more
