He says there has been dialogue with the various ministries on the progress of the shipment of bulk water.Martin was responding to criticisms by the Minister for Water Resource Management Reginald Austrie that there is still no progress after three years since a license was issued for the shipment of bulk water. Martin said there has been tremendous levels of cooperation between Sisserou Water Inc and several government ministries about plans to export the country’s water.According to him, a significant amount of work has been undertaken between a seven year span.“There is going to be a first phase of water exports that will target the Caribbean. That will be possible because the existing loading facility of DOWASCO along the west coast is sufficient to supply the volume that would be on order from the Caribbean market. Letters of intent are being finalized,” he saidHe said the next phase would be to complete the financing arrangement for the larger water terminal component in Marigot.“That will now get water ready to export to markets much further afield like North America and the Middle East,” he said.He said receiving facilities for water in the region still remains a major problem.
